LinkedIn character counter
LinkedIn posts can be up to 3,000 characters, but most readers decide from the two or three lines shown before "see more". This counter shows both.
How to use it
- Paste or write your LinkedIn post.
- Check the count against 3,000.
- Read the preview: that's roughly all most people see before deciding.

LinkedIn's limits
A LinkedIn post can be up to 3,000 characters. Spaces, line breaks and links all count towards it.
Where "see more" falls
LinkedIn doesn't publish the rule. In practice the feed shows about three lines before "see more", which is roughly 200 characters on desktop and fewer on a phone. Short opening lines with a line break after them show more of your post than one long paragraph. The preview here is an approximation, so check the real thing on your phone.
