AI slop checker
A rule-based check for the mechanical habits of AI-written social posts. These are the same rules Prospel applies to its own drafts before you see them.
How to use it
- Paste a post, yours or a draft from any AI tool.
- Read each finding and the exact words it matched.
- Copy the cleaned version, then fix anything marked "worth a look" by hand.
What counts as slop here
These checks look for mechanical habits that are common in AI-generated social posts and rare in natural writing: em and en dashes used as dramatic pauses, the "It's not X, it's Y" construction, "Ever wonder...?" openers, hashtag blocks, markdown asterisks that X and LinkedIn print literally, a reflexive closing question, and a short list of stock phrases.
It also flags first-person story shapes like "a founder told me" that AI tools often invent. Those aren't wrong if they happened, so the tool only asks you to check.
What it can't tell you
This is not an AI detector and no tool can reliably say who wrote a text. Plenty of people use dashes. The point is that readers increasingly associate these patterns with AI, so removing them helps your writing read as yours.
The automatic clean-up uses the same rules Prospel applies to every draft it writes.
