UTM link builder
Add UTM tags to a link so your analytics can tell which post or profile sent each visitor.
How to use it
- Paste the page you're linking to.
- Fill in source, medium and campaign (content is handy for telling posts apart).
- Copy the link and use it in your post or bio.
What each tag means
- utm_source: where the visit came from, such as x or linkedin.
- utm_medium: the type of channel, usually social for posts and bios.
- utm_campaign: what the link is for, such as a launch name.
- utm_content: tells links in the same campaign apart, such as bio or the post's date.
- utm_term: mostly used for paid search keywords.
Analytics tools such as Google Analytics treat "LinkedIn" and "linkedin" as different sources, so lower case is on by default. Spaces become underscores. Existing parts of your link, like other query parameters or a #section, are kept.
On X, every link counts as 23 characters however long the UTM tags make it.
